I just installed Chrome on my Mac and was opening a page and noticed a green square in the upper right corner of the browser. Clicking on it I found it was Avast virus program running.
In April of 2015 I read this article:
It convinced me to uninstall Avast from my Mac. To my knowledge the issue with certificates has NOT been resolved. I urge everyone to disable Avast from running in Chrome using the following steps:
1. Locate the green ball icon in the top-right corner of your Google Chrome browser.
2. Right-click on it and select 'Remove from Chrome…'
3. Confirm removal by clicking on 'Remove'
